Sarah Key’s Level 1 Masterclasses are designed
to make you happier treating backs. Sarah’s hypothesis of the five stages of breakdown provides a framework for you to understand the developmental nature of many spinal conditions. In Level 1, the two most common syndromes are explained following a comprehensive first lecture on anatomy, disc physiology and spinal biomechanics. Spinal decompression is discussed. The Practical sessions refine palpation skills and teach spinal mobilisation using the heel.

The Level 2 Masterclasses go into detail about the less common developmental disorders in the sequence of degeneration originating from a stiff segment – acute ‘locked’ back, disc prolapse and instability – all of which are trickier to manage than the easily-reversed stiff link.
The matters of bending and sitting are also discussed, since these are such thorny issues in the process of spinal rehabilitation. More of using the feet too.
